U.S. Director

Steve Levine has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from City College, and a Master Degree in Business from Baruch College which is part of CUNY (City University of New York) system. He has taught Business related courses for the last 10 years. Prior to that, Steve has had his own business, worked in industry in various roles. He was the Vice President for a large multi branch distributor, as well as the assistant to the president for a division of Pfizer. Steve also served in the Army. In that capacity he served as the operational officer for a construction Battalion.

Chinese Director

Dr. Qiang Ding became CIB’s Chinese Director in November 2019. Dr. Ding is an associate Professor at Nanjing University of Finance and Economics.

He has obtained a PhD (International Management) from the University of Waikato, New Zealand. He holds his first Master Degree and PGDip (Postgraduate Diploma) in International Affairs from Nanjing University (P.R. China), and second Master Degree in International Business and Management, and PGDip in Business Administration from Massey University (Albany, Auckland)

Dr. Ding was an Assistant Lecturer (International Business & Strategy) at University of Waikato (Hamilton) and a Guest Lecturer at Massey University (Albany) since 2006. He has served as First Supervisor, Examiner and Assessor for STMG499s/591s and MBM/MRP students (postgraduate level) at the University of Waikato since 2006 and Nanjing University of Finance and Economics since 2011.

Apart from his current role in the School, Dr. Ding has been a professional member of Academy of International Business (AIB), USA (since 2006), and is now involved in the establishment of the Business Chapter of Contemporary China Research Centre in New Zealand.

Jing Wen, an associate professor from Nanjing University of Finance and Economics (NUFE), returned to CIB in August 2019 after her first term with CIB in 2013. She has a Bachelor degree in English Education from Qiqihar Teachers’ University, a Master Degree in British and American Literature from Heilongjiang University and a Master Degree in American Studies from Johns-Hopkins University Nanjing Center. In 2017, she won the award of "My Favorite Teacher at  NUFE."

Her research interest is Traditional Chinese Culture Applied in Contemporary World.

Dr. Maryalice Mazzara headshot

Dr. Mazzara has been involved with CIB since its establishment in 2010, first as the Deputy Director and in 2013 as the U.S. Director. During her tenure as Director she initiated the Distinguished Speakers Series, the Chinese Book Talks, and the Chinese Arts Series.

In 2019 Dr. Mazzara became the Senior Advisor to CIB. In this position she continues her leadership role with the SUNY CI Network and the Metro NY CI Network. As well, Dr. Mazzara advises and supports CIB and the Office of Global Affairs in SUNY System China programs.

Dr. Mazzara is also the Director of the Jewish Foundation of Education of Women (JFEW) - SUNY Global Affairs Leadership Program, which supports SUNY undergraduate women to become global leaders. Dr. Mazzara earned her EdD from Columbia University’s Teachers College with a degree in International Education with a specialization in Education Administration.
